It was a picture perfect day in the pines near Prescott. Clouds danced in the sky, cooling the summer sun. They parted frequently, allowing glorious rays of sunshine to peek through and shine down, as though they knew the exact moment and proper placement of such heavenly light.
The setting was serene… tall trees, pine cones, fresh mountain air… and reflected perfectly the kind nature of the two people who would be united this day. Amidst the peaceful campground, a flurry of excitement broke the forest’s silence. Although things were not going exactly according to plan (weddings rarely do), Jennifer and Daniel knew that in just a few short moments, they would be husband and wife, and nothing else would matter. Amongst their dearest friends and family, and surrounded by nature’s majesty, they said their I Do’s in the amphitheater at Groom Creek Schoolhouse.
Their forest wedding could not have been more sweet and sincere. It pulled at my heart strings, and spoke to the nature lover inside me. It reminded me of what is really important in life. Simplicity, honesty, a tiny bit of craziness, and above all… love, life, family, celebration.
Jennifer and Daniel, words cannot describe how much I enjoyed documenting your wedding. I wish you so much happiness and joy as you journey through life together, and as you continue to write your Life Story.
They had not planned on a first look, but as we all know life doesn’t always go as planned. What happened as a result was magical. The emotion that filled them as they saw each other for the first time was so overwhelming. The nerves, the chaos… it melted away as Daniel brushed a tear from Jennifer’s cheek. He lit up, and she beamed with happiness. In that moment, they were reminded of the meaning of the day.
Oh, Jennifer! You are just stunning.
Can I just tell you how amazing these people are? So beautiful, so genuine, so welcoming! I was honored to spend the day with you!
Gaaahhhh!! This LIGHT!! This LOVE!!! You TWO!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!
Jennifer’s Maid of Honor, Malee, made these adorable gift bags for the guests! Inside them was the perfect gift befitting a nature-lovers wedding… Natural, handmade botanical body products – hand salve and lip balm. Aaah, my kindred spirits!!
How beautiful are these cakes??!!? Marla from Sugared n’ Iced was putting the finishing touches on them as I was photographing the reception details. Too adorable to eat! From what I hear, her cakes are DE-LISH! Lemon cake with berry filling….. you know how to sweet talk a girl!
I said my good byes as Jennifer & Daniel joined their friends & family in celebration under the stars, which I’m certain lasted into the night. Congratulations to Jennifer & Daniel, and your beautiful family!

Hi,
We’re getting married at the Groom Creek Schoolhouse in a few months and I was wondering how this couple handled the parking situation. We’re trying to figure out if we need to book buses or the like, or if everyone can drive themselves and fit.
Thanks!

Hi Jenn! First… Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Yes, the parking is a bit tight there, there is a small space for a few cars, and then parking on the road. For this wedding, everyone drove themselves. Most of their guests also camped there overnight, so there were a couple RVs’s as well – they parked in by the Schoolhouse. It was a smaller, more intimate wedding, though… so not sure how many cars there actually were (maybe 20 or so)? Some people did carpool, which is a really good idea, and something you may want to suggest. I will say, one of the more difficult things was guests getting lost on the way there. I would suggest giving out REALLY good directions, and maybe even a personalized map. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you, I’m sure your wedding will be wonderful! Let me know if you need a photographer! 🙂
