He lead her down to the beach to take sunset photos. The resort where they were staying had a gazebo that extended over the water, so that was the perfect spot. The Caribbean Sea is blue and clear and you can see forever when you are literally walking on top of it. And then he got down on one knee… Justin proposed to Alison under a golden sky on top of the crystal clear water.
And so I felt that it was absolutely necessary that we give them a wedding photo to match. I realize I can’t make the beach come to the desert, but I can (almost always) promise a pretty glorious sunset. And they had, again, picked the perfect spot. The Buttes in Tempe is not only a gorgeous resort, but also has fantastic views of the city, and of the incredible sunsets we get here in the valley. They indulged me the short trek up to the top of the Butte, and we were treated a never-ending sky and a peaceful, perfect place to just be together for a moment.
Everything about Alison & Justin’s wedding was like that… perfect, peaceful, and beautiful beyond words. It was simply elegant, and had that comfortable feeling that makes you just know you’re in the presence of friends. I absolutely adore these two people, and I am honored and humbled to have been a part of their amazing day.
Alison & Justin, thank you for allowing me the honor of documenting your wedding, your love, and your first sunset as husband and wife. I wish you a lifetime of amazing sunsets, my friends.
