Alright, are you ready for the most creative wedding proposal ever because I’ve got a great one for you!!! So great, in fact, that it was featured on How They Asked! They loved it so much, they put it on their blog and social, and in less than 1 day, the Instagram post had more than 25000 likes!!! WHAAATT? I guess everyone else loved it too! So, what makes for an uber creative wedding proposal gets you a priceless reaction like the one you see up there ^^?? (And maybe even garners some media attention… Hello 15 minutes!) First, you get yourself a photographer on your side who has done this a bunch of times! I’ll help you plan the whole thing so that it goes amazingly. After that?? Read on to find out.

She knew it was coming. They had talked about their future. And they had even picked out the ring together. As a result, she had expected it for some time, to the point that any plan he made would put her on high alert. Of course he was going to pop the question. But when… and how? Is it even possible to pull off a proposal – and keep it a surprise – when she knows it’s going to happen?

Luckily, Eric is an engineer. His brain is all about solving problems and defining details. So by the time he contacted me, he had already worked out most of his plan. He and Gabby were going to be moving into a new home together. What better way to celebrate their new life, than with a promise of their whole life…. Together.

Eric parked the moving truck on the street a block or so away from their apartment. (Living in downtown makes for limited parking space, so we knew she wouldn’t question why he had to park it elsewhere.) He told Gabby that there was a mix up with the truck size, and she needed to come look at it to make sure everything would fit before he brought it over to load. And then he opened the door for her to see…

So this is where I have to tell you that it Doesn’t. Matter. exactly what your proposal plan is. Only that you have one. It doesn’t have to be some Pinterest perfect dinner date. Because if it had, in this instance, Gabby would have known (or been hyper aware of it) the WHOLE time. In fact, she admitted to thinking it was going to happen that night instead, because Eric had told her they were going out to dinner to celebrate the move. And that was exactly what Eric had banked on. He told her that to throw her off, and make sure she would actually be surprised.

And boy, did it work. Gabby’s reaction was literally the BEST. EVER. She was jumping up and down like Tigger. (I May be dating myself on that reference, but you get the picture.) She screamed. And laughed. Then cried. She was genuinely surprised. To the point that she didn’t even notice the blond girl with a giant camera lens standing in the middle of the street just 20 yards away.

And that, my friends, is what makes for a magical memory, the most unique, creative wedding proposal ever. Bonus points for thinking outside of the box truck, Eric.

Gabby and Eric, I am so happy for you, and so honored to have been there to capture this incredible moment in your lives. Thank you for trusting in me, and for letting me be a very small part of your very big celebration! I can. not. wait to see what you plan for your wedding! I know your lives together will be filled with many more extraordinary, detailed, love-filled, genuinely surprising moments!! Mazel Tov!! 💕
